Installation of a sculpture by Jean-Michel Folon (1934 – 2005) on the terraces of the Monaco Cardio-Thoracic Center
Ferus Gallery is proud to install a major work by Folon (1934 – 2005) “A Man”, on the terraces of the Cardio-Thoracic Center of Monaco, overlooking Port Hercule.
In a world in search of meaning and authenticity, Sculpture, a major Art, is today more than ever “the Art of Princes and Kings”.
For several years, Ferus Gallery has established itself as THE gallery of Sculpture and Photography on the Côte d’Azur.
After placing works by Marino Di Teana (1920 – 2012) at the Tour Odéon (Monaco), sculptures by Philippe Hiquily (1925 – 2013) in the gardens of the prestigious villas of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Lac des Trois Cantons (Switzerland), Ferus Gallery is proud to install a major work by Folon “A Man”, on the terraces of the Monaco Cardio-Thoracic Center, overlooking Port Hercule.
Already a famous painter, illustrator and designer, it was in the early 1980s that Prince Rainier III offered Folon a workshop in the Principality, on the quay of Port Hercule. For more than 20 years, the artist stayed regularly in Monaco, he died there in 2005. It was also in Monaco that, on the advice of his friend César, he began to work on sculpture, producing the most accomplished part of his work.
Inaugurated on June 20, 2024, the work is presented with a cartel recalling the Founder of the Cardio-Thoracic Center.
May this work perpetuate the memory of a
Great man,
Professor Vincent DOR,
Founder of the Monaco Cardiothoracic Center,
in tribute to his visionary spirit,
leaving a legacy to the Principality,
an exceptional establishment.
